Who we are

Leftover Lover acts as the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at support@leftoverlover.com.

Data we collect and why

• Account data (email address, login identifiers, display name, avatar) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Kitchen data (pantry items, dietary preferences, household size, favourites, meal plans) — to provide recipe matching and planning. Legal basis: contract performance.
• Purchase records (credit balance, credit history, unlocks, payment reference IDs) — to deliver what you bought and support refunds. Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation.
• Technical and usage data (IP address, device and browser information, error logs) — for security, fraud prevention and improving the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share data with

• Hosting, database and infrastructure providers that run the service on our behalf.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, payments, invoicing, subscription management and tax compliance.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
• Authorities where we are legally required to disclose.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep account and kitchen data while your account is active and for up to 12 months afterwards, then delete or anonymise it. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@leftoverlover.com and we will respond within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security so that your kitchen data is only readable by you.

Cookies and local storage

Essential cookies and browser storage keep you signed in, remember your language and process payments. These are always on — the site cannot work without them.

Analytics & marketing cookies (Google Analytics, product analytics and advertising pixels such as Google Ads, Pinterest and TikTok) only load after you accept them in our cookie banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, none of these scripts are loaded and no advertising or analytics cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer; withdrawing also clears the analytics cookies we can reach.

We keep a small amount of first-party, cookie-free usage logging (for example which recipe pages are viewed) so we can improve the site; it contains no advertising identifiers.
